Drawing (21st March 2014)

we continued with last weeks subject of creases and folds in clothing. This week we had the model come in again. the first task was to draw the model in a gown, specifically the creases around the arm as after each pose the model would lower his arm.

the first drawing (the one in the top corner) was done in pen, whilst the others used charcoal

The second task had the model put a black sheet

over his head, similar to a a sheet ghost halloween costume. we were only to draw the sheets and not the models legs. the room was also darkened so that we could focus on how lights affected the folds.

For the third and final task, the model put a transparent sheet of plastic over himself (with a hole cut for his head to go through) this time we drew the model with one drawing utensil and drew the sheet in a different one.

the first and third drawings had the folds done with charcoal and the person done in pen. The second drawing had the folds drawn with pencil and the person done in pen.
